Nose Kitchen happens to win the Concourt circuit for Best Newcomer- an award given to the most promising singer in the french speaking community of Belgium. Feuded was Sharko's debut album. This album opens with The 60's" (pollution in our orbit) Tequila and 23rd (mp3 - 2.7Mb) has a twisted double bass sample, a lunatic organ and a rather shy pop chorus. Evidence is a positive song. It could be the soundtrack for the movie "Taxi Driver" only with a Bob De Niro on prozac AND on a dayshift. Artist A reaction, a lo-fi reaction, I must say, to the fact that it is rather difficult to have any airplay on any radio. Don't you think so too? Red issue a bloody instrumental. I like the end very much. Wake up A song for the sleeping beauties in all of us. Nurse's Waltz In the beginning, we had this weird eastern instrument playing that melody for over 5 minutes, but it was going nowhere, really. Then came the idea of the folk guitar. Now, not only had we a luxurious eastern melody in the first part but in the end we had this cheap folk stuff reminiscent of a Texan salesman trying to sell a Toyota. Bleedin' all the dutch television really wanted to make a videoclip out of this tune. A great experience, really. Evil S I DON'T CARE. YOU ARE. A moon over my house Let's tango. Such a bone was a much noticed song when I first played it live. I like the structure. Big Ben in the second verse. I like that. Capitol and the little voice from out of space saying " I'm back... ". Then the CRAZY casio solo ( it was the funky button on my casio). Sharko. David Bartholomé worked with sound engineer Rudy Coclet. |
Meeuws is Sharko's second album. This album opens with Minute. Think of the minute before an aircrash, for instance. I went down reggae bass line, atmospheric guitar parts by Teuk, intense drums. It reminds you of a band, doesn'it ? Bootleg of AC/DC what a great song title, innit ? just great Into my head A very simple riff. We did improvise a bit, then. Then I put it in a trip of minimalist-pop-japan death. Ema boom boom. A fantastic Jackson 5 bassline ! A filler, anyway. Why don't you give me your heart? the boys -" Let's do something very rough. Just one take, one mix the very same hour and boom, that's it!" ¬ the producer "well,..." Clash P. "what a beautiful little voice! Put it up front!" said the producer. U got us is dedicated to the American Indian chief Blacksand Vanzandt who saw his people deteriorate through alcoholism. Didn't say a word, then finished his bottle. Bootleg of AC/DC the rock critic :- "can I say you are a major fan of AC/DC?" Tom Cut the producer :- "a good song. Well, let's do something out of this demo." ¬ the boys :- "erm, ...this is the final mix." ¬ the producer :- "It is?" The Queen Is Coming the rock critic :- "you're a big fan of Queen, then?" Sometimes Reedhof Hür is the name of a mountain in West Germany. Wig god, what a beautiful soulful trumpet. I went down a different version. I love this version. I just love it. I think this one is better. Yeah, even better. Montmartre Paris, you know. French kiss and all. |
